I've only been here once, so take my review with a big grain of salt. I tried both my own dish and my boyfriend's dish, and both were disgusting. My tofu was horrible. I wasn't even sure it was tofu. If a restaurant is serving baked tofu (I think mine was baked), it should indicate that the tofu is baked, because it's very different. I couldn't even finish half my dish. Fortunately the service was fast and the employees were friendly.

For some reason I always forget that Pei Wei isn't very good. It's not terrible by any means but I have had much better at little local Chinese places. But I will say they are better than their big brother P.F. Changs. Which I have always found over priced and highly overrated. I usually stick with the noodle dishes they have here. I have always found there food to be just really bland and boring. But on the plus side they do have soy and sriracha on the table. And you know what I say, sriracha makes everything better.

We have come here since they opened and this is the first time I've felt let down. First, they no longer use reusable cups...so I'm not happy with the negative effect on the environment. There were no clean tables, no lemons for drinks and fewer drink selections. I came here with my husband and two of my children. My husband's meal came out first (spicy Korean beef) and was a bit salty. My daughter's meal came out second and she loves the Dan Dan noodles, but she also loves Top Ramen, so I'm not sure how good of a food judge she is...she's nine. My coconut curry came out next and although it tasted pretty good and mildly spicy, the green beans taste VERY weird...sour almost. We had to flag down someone finally to ask the whereabouts of my youngest daughter's honey seared chicken and noodles. This was after we all had been eating for 10 minutes. The server brought her food out and shortly afterwards the manager came out and brought a $10 gift card to apologize for the delay in my daughter's meal. That really redeemed them. I figured they were swamped and super busy (on a Thursday night?) and will give them another chance.

The best service I've had in a while! Our meals came out and I realized I had forgotten to order friend rice and made a joking disappointed comment to my friend and the waiter came back and brought me a bowl.( It was "Host 15, Cashier #2 on 10/1 at 1:00 pm if the managers are reading :) he deserves a raise!)

Locals in Salt Lake City seem to love this place. I've been both during lunch and dinner and this place is always packed. I am a big fan of Asian food however this place offers more Americanized Asian food. Pei wei offers an Asian fusion selection. Some things I've ordered are: Pad Thai: Because I am a food snob and have tried various restaurants with authentic pad Thai, I was not a fan. The noodles were very greasy. Korean Spicy: Not a bad dish to try. There is definitely flavor, however I still think this was more an Americanized version of Korean food on rice.

I love Pei Wei! This is the first time I had it in Salt Lake City. Normally I will get it every time I go to Florida. It was just as consistent! I always get crab won tons as an appetizer and chicken fried rice for the entree. Staff was very friendly. Happy to see this place busy because they deserve to be!

I really like this place. The food is consistent. The price is right. Favorite entree: Japanese Chile Ramen (off the menu right now, unfortunately) Their email club is pretty good too. They don't spam with too much info--just new menu items and deals.

The taste of the food was irrelevant considering I found a neon-colored rubber band about five bites in. While the cashier girls were super nice and empathetic, the management handled the situation quite unprofessionally. It was like pulling teeth just to get MY plate refunded--they wouldn't even consider refunding our entire meal, even though no one else would eat their food after my discovery. The worst part: the manager defended the mishap with the line "we don't use blue rubber bands here." WTF????????????????

Somehow I just end up eating here a lot, even though I'm not impressed with their food. I've pretty much always ordered Pad Thai (they stopped serving the Thai Blazing Noodles, which was one of my favorite dishes). When it's good, it's really good. Unfortunately, the consistency of this restaurant is really bad. Let me recap the last 4 times I had Pad Thai here 1) awesome 2) I wanted Pad Thai with veggies and Tofu, somehow they ended up making Pad Thai w/ no meat (no veggie, and very little tofu). 3) The Pad Thai was like a noodle soup, dripping wet with Pad Thai sauce. Pad Thai should not be THAT wet 4) The Pad Thai was very dry, almost no sauce (and No, I didn't complain about the too much sauce earlier - so they're not really running a customer-awareness program here!)

I didn't love it. I didn't hate it. So, yeah... Don't have much to say.

While not quite the same experience as Pei Wei's mommy, PF Changs, this little express cafe gives me all the comfort of lettuce wraps and honey chicken and sticky, brown rice that I can handle. I love love love the lettuce wraps and to be able to get them without waiting for an hour to be seated is like instant lettuce gratification. I'll take it. Thank you!

This place was great! The service was nice and the restaurant was clean and had a good atmosphere. I really like their carmalized chicken--it has the right amount of spicy and they dished up a pretty good size portion for the double digits you would be paying :) I would suggest this place for any Asian food fan!

Great fast food American/Chinese dining! Service has slipped a bit over the years, but it is a fast food place...what can you really expect. I had Lo Mein hold the onions...not bad with some hot chili sauce mixed in. Egg rolls aren't bad either. However, if you like hot mustard, use the mustard in the little containers not what is delivered with the egg roll. My wife had the caramel chicken and really liked it. Nice going in after 7PM too...not crowded and less noise. Well, except for the annoying cook who couldn't stop whistling. Whistling...really??

Came here at 5 to 8 on a Sunday night. Clearly not enough staff to handle the counter. Ordered Dan Dan noodles with Steak , no sprouts TO GO. When I opened the container in my hotel, I had chicken WITH SPROUTS. Very disappointing

I love this place. I was sad when they closed it down in Rancho, CA. So I had to go here and have my usual. Fried rice with chicken. Very good but a little dry.

Pei Wei Asian Diner serves Asian inspired dishes from several ethnic genres. These include China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand. One of the nice things about this restaurant is the dishes are made to order and offer customization. They won't give you a hard time if you want to make a substitution. Pei Wei is owned by P. F. Chang's China Bistro. The food has a very similar taste to P.F. Chang's to be sure. The dishes all have a good taste and are well prepared. There is a wide choice of appetizers, and main entrees. You can also choose from a few salads. The lettuce warps are yummy, the Kung Pao has a great taste, and the Pei Wei spicy really tasty. Essentially this is like eating at P.F.Chang's without the extra cost. Very good.

When it comes to Asian-American fusion in a clean and open spot, this is the place. It is not a mom & pops shot. It is not a whole in the wall. It is a chain. It is a clean and fresh option to asian food.

I debated between 2 and 3 stars. It was "OK" but nothing spectacular. We ordered take-out for my work so maybe it tastes better if you dine in. I didn't pay so no clue how much it costs. Wasn't bad though -- just

The food here sucks. I went to Pei Wei last night because my niece was begging for Chinese food after her basketball game at the Boys & Girls Club. My sister, niece, and I decided to go to Pei Wei, mostly because it was conveniently located and we always passed it but never tried it. First and foremost, the wait for food was obnoxiously long. There was actually a couple sitting near us that wanted to speak to the manager because they were waiting so long. For three dishes, we waited well over 20 minutes. Because the service is fashioned similarly to that of a place like Noodles, we were expecting a wait of no longer than 10 minutes. On top of the wait, the food was completely underwhelming, and I would even say that it was pretty bad. My sister's Lo Mein had a funny taste and the noodles were a weird combination of sticky and mushy, my niece's honey seared chicken (or whatever it's name) was almost inedible because it tasted so bad, and my sesame chicken had a gross-tasting sauce. The best thing ordered was my brown rice. I will definitely not ever go back to Pei Wei.

I have to say that I am a fan of authentic Thai, authentic Vietnamese, authentic Japanese foods. The food at Pei Wei is a "nock off" of the real thing. This place is very trendy, almost a fast food restaurant in disguise. The Hot and Sour Soup is not the best I've ever had, very salty. But, to balance the negative, it is FAST and CLEAN and the Chai Iced tea is good.

Good appetizers. Good classic dishes. Lots of noodles and rice combos. You can skip the carbs and go for extra veggies on some of the dishes.

    Pricey. Go to Sampan instead.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
